To make this work, we as a group need to be sure of investigative procedures. I am interested in trying to start an initial group to learn how to run an investigation. We would try to meet a few times a month, to discuss techniques, and methodology. Once the core group is established, and has some experience, we can expand from there.

This group should consist of investigators, interviewers and researchers. If a person isn't interested in trying to meet a ghost face to face, but loves the paper chase, research is a good location. If you have good people skills, and maybe some psychology under your belt, interviewing is a good place. There is lots of room for overlap. You can research and investigate. You all get the picture.

Skeptics are welcome. If you don't believe in ghost but are interested, I have no issue, as long as you keep an open mind, and stay honest.

If you are so inclined to make a serious commitment, we want you to help kick this off. I need to get an idea of the type of numbers we'll be starting with. Please post a response here on this string. Also, if you have some experience in paranormal investigation, let me know.

Me and stepson are interested, he is 15 and very interested in this subject. Previous ghost tours, etc. have produced some interesting pictures and he has expressed a desire to photograph or research. Let us know when the first meeting is and let's get started!

If and when you find enough core group members I can have a get together with some members of my group to discuss Equipment, Research, making bookings, and follow up. We have a good amount of investigations under our belt and done some successful seminars. Here is what you need;

1. People willing to dedicate the time. 40 members simply sitting home waiting for the phone to ring will accomplish nothing. Guidelines need to be established with tasks delegated out to the membership.

2. Equipment needs to be purchased. If you have been interested in the paranormal for years...then you should either have equipment already or be willing to purchase some. Simply coming empty handed puts more pressure on other members whom have to carry your load. Without equipment you can't participate fully in an investigation nor go over footage. Simply, what is your goal without equipment....to simply use the investigation as a fun house ?

3. Organization. Without proper organization the group will crumble fast. The group should be divided into department and each department should have goals with deadlines .

4. Paranormal Investigation is not something you do when you are bored...or if bowling season is over. It takes hard work and dedication. Attendence is one of the biggest problems with paranormal groups . Why? Because the the vast majority of people who sign up simply aren't serious about it. They simply want to use this as a FREE entertainment and not put one ounce of effort into it. Excuses like my car broke down...my dog ran away or had to go to the vet...etc..... I had heard them all. By not attending meetings it is showing disrespect for the people who are putting this event together. I know many simply don't care about wasting people's time...but it is rude and should never be tolerated. People who don't show to the first meeting...usually don't show to the second. Of course they will have excuses and say they will come....but again a new excuse will pop up.

I have to make some of these points as meetup is notorious for no shows and people wasting yor time. If you get a good serious core group I will come down and assist your group if you like. Remember , a good dedicated group of six can accomplish more than 40 goofballs.

Let me know if you want to set something up.

My name is Tara Daugherty and I would like to be a member of your investigation team. It has been a dream of mine for a long time to either get involved or start an investigation team. I live in Sarasota so the drive is not far for me to make for meetings or other gatherings. Please let me know what I can do to help get this team off the ground and investigating some paranormal activity!

As John has already stated , a core team that is ambitious and self motivated is going to be the key to your success, He (John) and I have been friends for several years, and have worked together as sister teams on occasion, so he and I are almost To much alike.
I will also be be happy to get together with you all and go over things we do to help make it a professional group. I have forms and documents on PDF that I use regualrly and would be happy to share them with you and send you copies so you can change them to suit your individual needs.
